Are you wondering what food and nutrition events are coming up in Chicago? I am! Well I was…until I wrote this post. Whether you are a foodie, blogger, dietitian or nutrition enthusiast, below are a few upcoming events you won’t want to miss!

Eat Chic Chicago

Get ready for tastings, wine & cocktail samples, insightful seminars, and more! The Chicago Food + Wine Festival presented by FOOD & WINE Magazine brings together acclaimed chefs, wine & spirits experts, and winemakers from across the nation as well as from Chicago’s own acclaimed restaurant community for an experience unlike any other. The festival itinerary includes wine seminars, cookbook signings, and cooking demos from your favorite local chefs. Yes, Rick Bayless, Stephanie Izard and Art Smith will all be there.

Chicago Gourmet

Millennium Park

Bon Appétit presents another year of Chicago Gourmet at Millennium Park! This unforgettable weekend of events is jam-packed with culinary all-stars offering cooking demos, cocktail seminars, and tastings of food, wine, beer and spirits from over 150 Chicago restaurants. Sessions include Preventative Medicine: Food, Holistic Health, and Your Wellness Lifestyle and Breaking the “Detox” Stigma: How you can cleanse your body with foods and how to do it the safe way. This is a great way to learn about wellness in Chicago and network with people in the field. If you see Karen, say hello!

Chicago Food Swap
Sunday, September 27 @ 2PM
Sunday, October 18 @ 2PM
Sunday, December 6 @2PM
Fearless Food Kitchen
4641 N Francisco Ave | Chicago, IL 60625

I have to admit that due to my crazy schedule recently, I haven’t been able to make it to as many of these events as I would like. However, if you attended a Chicago Food Swap yet, you NEED to (and tell Emily Paster I sent you, she’s the best). The event brings together passionate home cooks, bakers and gardeners to trade and swap their homemade creations and homegrown food. Think farmers market meets flea market (in the best way possible way of course). Bring your most delicious creations, put your bartering hat on and make a handful of new friends who share your passion for good, wholesome food. Check out my experiences at previous swaps here and here!

Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo
October 3-6
Music City Center
201 5th Ave S | Nashville, TN 37203

Ok I know this one isn’t in Chicago, but it’s worth the mention! This annual conference brings together dietitians from around the country for a dynamic experience of education and networking. Over 330 exhibitors including many of your favorite health food brands showcase new nutritious products and countless speakers offer fantastic educational sessions on various topics within the field of nutrition and dietetics. This is a great educational and networking opportunity to meet other RDs and brands seeking ambassadors. If you’re looking for yours truly (yes, me), stop by the Dietitians in Business and Communications and Nutrition Entrepreneurs Networking Event or the Food & Nutrition Magazine Reception. Or just contact me and let’s grab coffee!

BlogHerFood ‘15
November 6-7
Hyatt Regency
151 East Wacker Drive | Chicago, IL 60601

BlogHerFood is coming to Chicago! #BlogHerFood is one of the largest conferences for food content creators.  Whether you are a recipe developer, food photographer or blogger, this conference offers everything from famous speakers of the blogosphere, social media bootcamps, tips for finding your blog voice, tricks for understanding SEO and ideas for building your business! Chicago Farmer’s Markets
Now thru October 31
Various locations

Sadly summer isn’t going to last forever and neither will our farmers markets. So stock up on fresh produce while it still lasts! Most Chicagoland farmers markets are open through the end of September and some remain open with fall produce through the end of October. Some of my favorite locations include Daley Plaza Farmers Market, Division Street Farmers Market and Green City Farmers Market.

November Project Chicago
Wednesdays @ 6:28AM
The Lakeview Totem Pole
Fridays @ 6:00AM
The Bean

November Project is a free fitness movement that was born in Boston as a way to stay in shape during cold New England months. Now present in multiple cities, including Chicago, the movement uses the simple sense of accountability to motivate and encourage people of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels to get out of their beds and get moving. Whether you’re a professional athlete or a fitness rookie, the November project caters to anyone and everyone looking to kick start their morning with a healthy life choice. The Chicago group meets every Wednesday and Friday for a morning group workout; no need to register; it’s free and all you need to do is show up!

Are you going to be at any of the above events? If so, let’s meet! Connect with me directly on social media or shoot me an email.
