A couple years ago in efforts to increase our running and athleticism, I participated in the Warrior Dash and Will participated in the Tough Mudder. But now there’s a new obstacle race gaining popularity around the country – The Reebok Spartan Race!

The Spartan Race is not your average run; it’s a one-of-a-kind obstacle adventure that will push you beyond your athletic comfort zone! This obstacle event is for all abilities; from beginner (Spartan Sprint) and intermediate (Super Spartan) races to advanced (Spartan Beast) and extreme (Death Race) levels, the Spartan Race will test your strength, endurance and sense of humor.

NBC will be filming the Spartan Race World Championships in Killington, Vermont on September 21st! Whether you want to compete in Vermont or watch from the comfort of your own home, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to tune in to NBC Sports Network on October 19th to see tens of thousands of athletes from around the world go head to head for a chance to win a quarter of a million dollars in cash and prizes!

This post is sponsored by Reebok Spartan Race. “You’ll know at the finish line.”

  1. Well how I stayed fit all summer long is mainly thankful to some obstacle course races. I could barely run a mile before getting too tired. But I stopped smoking, stopped drinking pop and starting working out a few times a week so I can actually finish some races in a decent amount of time. Spartan Races seem alot of intense then other ones out there though. Can’t wait to get out there and try them.

  2. Marathon (and Big10K) training! Probably need more than some road miles for a Spartan though–I definitely don’t have the upper body strength and stamina for a sandbag carry or rope climb . Hmm, how about a Crossfit giveaway before the Spartan…

  3. Becky Burkart

I stayed fit training for the Virginia Super Spartan, which I completed last weekend. I am trying to win an entry for the Spartan Sprint in Philadelphia on Sept. 28. I want to complete my Trifecta this year!

  4. I stayed fit by running road races, biking, and a bit of swimming.

  5. I do lots of running on the trails in my neighborhood. It feels great!
