Can you believe it’s already August? I can’t. I refuse to acknowledge that summer is coming to an end…mostly because the weather in Chicago continues to be hot with a capital H with no signs of cooling down anytime soon. In effort to stay cool, we’re guzzling down anything chilled over ice these days, including this Cherry Lime Chia Fresca!

Yup. This summer beverage is a thing of beauty and packed with all of the right nutrients. Fibrous chia seeds are soaked in antioxidant-rich tart cherry juice and then added to refreshing coconut water, freshly-squeezed lime juice and a splash of sparkling water – that’s it!

Two tablespoons of chia seeds provides 7g of fiber, 4g of protein, and 5g of omega-3 fatty acids. Granted you would have to drink the entire pitcher of THIS particular fresca to get that, you get the idea – these little suckers pack a big nutrition.
