Will and I spent this past weekend in Omaha visiting friends and family! We had a busy weekend scheduled with a football game, a wedding and food and drinks aplenty! I didn’t bring my camera with me on the trip, so please enjoy the following Facebook and Instagram montage…
On Friday, I went to Urban Wine Company in the Old Market with my mom and sister. We ordered a giant charcuterie plate to share and plenty of delicious wine.
Saturday was the big game – Northwestern vs. Nebraska. A handful of Will’s college friends were in town for the game, so we geared up in purple and headed down to Lincoln.
We had tickets to the Northwestern Alumni tailgate at the Rococo Theater before the game where we enjoyed a couple local beers from the bar (Lucky Bucket from Papillion, NE and ZipLine brewed in Lincoln, NE) and tasty bites from the lunch buffet.
The Alumni Association supplied us with plenty of NU swag including pompoms and paper football helmets to cheer on the Wildcats!
Once of Will’s friends couldn’t make it, so my sister used the extra ticket and came along! Despite being a Nebraska fan at heart, she put on her purple and cheered on the Wildcats with us!
Naturally, we were outnumbered by the sea of red at the stadium. While Northwestern ended up losing the game, it was certainly a close game!
After the football game, Will and I had a wedding to attend for one of our old high school friends.
Congratulations to the happy couple! There was plenty of food and drinks to go around and we even enjoyed a piece from the celebratory challah!
We drove back on Sunday night and settled back in at home. Monday was a day of cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and catching up with emails. We did however make it to dinner and drinks with our friends Catherine and Dan at The Scout to watch the Bears game!
Cheers to terrible photo quality!
