Tonight I went to dinner with a friend for sushi at Ukai Japanese Restaurant and then for dessert at Bittersweet Pastry Shop! The food was so delicious that we ended up ordering way more then we could even eat. We started off with some Pork Ramen (noodle soup with roasted pork tenderloin, pickled cabbage, spinach, fried egg in a special house broth), and then moved on the some sushi rollsÔÇª
Here we have the Belinary on the left (soft-shell crab tempura, unagi, avocado, cream cheese, cucumber, black tobiko and tempura flakes) and the Pink Lady on the right (salmon, avocado, and scallion topped with torched salmon and ikura).
We also got the Cubs Roll (fresh mozzarella, avocado, unagi, and shrimp tempura) and the Godzilla (shrimp tempura, cream cheese, kanikama, avocado, scallion, and spicy sauce) – not pictured here.
Then we moved on to Bittersweet Pastry Shop for some dessert. They had all sorts of cute Halloween desserts!
Sorry the pictures came out a little dark – I guess it kind of adds a spooky Halloween touch to them!
I couldn’t resist the festive treats and bought a couple Meringue Ghosts and Orange Dipped Candy Corn Cookies to bring home for later. 🙂
