Hot Multigrain Cereal

Last night I made a big batch of this homemade multigrain cereal and put it in the freezer to stay fresh! I cannot explain in words the fabulous aroma that was coming out of my microwave while this was cooking, what a delicious thing to wake up to! If you love hot ceral and oats, you have got to try this recipe!

Hot Multigrain Cereal

vegetarian, vegan, soy-free, dairy-free, peanut-free, seed-free, shellfish-oil, fish-free, nightshade-free, bean & legume-free

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup quick-cooking barley (I just used regular barely to make my cereal a bit chewier)
  • 1 cup bulgar
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Combine all ingredients in large bowl and mix well. Store in airtight container at room temperature or in freezer (where it will last longer). Microwave 1/3 cup cereal with 3/4 cup water for 8 minutes and enjoy! I topped mine with half of a banana, yum!
