Growing Fruits with Vitamin A

These little guys were 50 cents a piece because its getting too late in the season to plant them in the garden. However, in the spirit of July’s Vitamin of the Month (Vitamin A), I just couldn’t pass them up!

Cantaloupe requires moist soil and warm temperatures; they are to be planted in the spring to have time during the summer warmth to fruit and ripen (hence the bargin pricing in July!). I know all of you gardeners are shaking your heads, but I am going to give it a go and see what happens! If it stays mildly warm through September and the frost holds off, I might just get a cantaloupe!

Hopefully the rabbits don’t get to them first!
